Opened in October 1900, the cemetery has areas for various religions. There is exclusive right of burial to buy for separate plots with smaller plots available for cremated remains.
You can see some wonderful wildlife in and around the cemetery. We provide bird tables, bat and owl boxes, and plants designed to attract butterflies. The cemetery also holds a Green Flag award.

Friends of Burtonwood Village
Friends of Burtonwood Village (FBV) is a group working to support people in the local community. They highlight the cemetery as a special place of peace to remember loved ones.
They oversee all burials to ensure high standards, respect and dignity. We work closely with the friends group, and they manage the cemetery on our behalf. Burtonwood Tenants and Residents Association also work closely with the FBV.
Phone us if you’d like to speak, or get involved and we’ll put you in touch. They have an excellent knowledge of the history of the local families buried there, they’d love to hear your stories.
Every November, the friends group holds a March of the Witness. This starts at St Pauls Church on Mercer Street and travels to the cemetery, followed by a service.
