It’s an exciting time to join Children’s Social Care in Warrington as we are embedding relationship based practice, we have moved to our new offices and were graded as “Good” in our Ofsted Inspection.  

A bit about us...

We currently have three teams in our Children in Care Service, with three Team Managers who are eager to support and develop all social workers alongside the senior practitioners in each team. There are good training  and development opportunities in Warrington and we value good supervision and Time to Talk. We recognise that everyone is on their own individual journey and will tailor support to help you to achieve.

The role

The current vacancies are based within the children in care and care leavers teams where the social workers will have responsibility to undertake specific pieces of work around discharge of care orders, special guardianship orders, and reunification of children home alongside other statutory duties associated with being a social worker within a child in care team. The post holders will initially work alongside the child’s allocated social worker and will then take over case responsibility as the relationship develops. 

We are looking for committed social workers who are passionate about supporting children and families to achieve change. We also thrive off good multiagency working and relationships and have excellent support services available to assist with supporting children and families.

We have a strong vision for social work practice in Warrington and are developing a new approach to social work. We are currently embedding a relationship based practice model at its core.  We are working alongside the Centre for Systemic Social Work, who are providing a comprehensive training programme to social workers and managers across our teams.

DBS clearance is required.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
