On behalf of Warrington, our Mayor Cllr Maureen Creaghan, sends sincere condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family, following the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip. Read the Mayor's full statement.
As part of our responsibility to promote social distancing around the town centre, it's necessary as an emergency measure, to temporarily close the feeder rank on Scotland Road to the bus interchange.
While we respond to the pandemic, we'll also close the rank on the south side of Sankey Street opposite the White Hart. However, the rank on the north side will remain.
We also plan to close the temporary ranks on St Austens Lane and Barbauld Street (to the south of St Austens Lane (not the permanent one further north on Barbauld Street). This is because we plan to reinstate the Academy Way eastbound rank this weekend, which means these temporary ranks are no longer required.
There are also various other alterations to the movement of traffic around the town centre introduced as emergency measures. Any further information will be displayed on our special coronavirus in Warrington webpages.
