Buses in Warrington
Most bus companies in Warrington have increased the number of bus services during June, to make it easier for essential journeys to be made and to avoid over-crowding, as they are only able to carry half the number of passengers than prior to the pandemic, they remain committed to maintaining essential journeys for key workers, vulnerable people and those who have an essential need to travel.
You can find more information about the reduced bus services with:
Services are being maintained for those who are defined as key workers and those who have an essential need to travel. The government guidance, however, is absolutely clear – that you should only travel if absolutely essential and that if possible you should remain at home.
Further service revisions may be required in line with government advice on social distancing. If you need to travel you will need to wear a facemask (unless you aren't able to do so), please follow the national guidance and try and stay at least two metres away from other people if possible. If you have hand sanitiser please take it with you on your journey.
We also ask that you use cash alternatives to travel wherever possible. This could mean paying via the Touch and Go app or contactless card (now available on the majority of bus several services).
The opening hours of the bus interchange have been extended since the majority of bus services have resumed.
The bus interchange will now be open:
- 5.00am – 11.30pm, Monday-Saturday
- 9am-6pm on Sundays and Public Holidays
Access for the services that depart outside of these times is available via the bus interchange ‘night gate’. This gate is accessible from Winwick Street, near Stand 1.
