Walking is one of the best ways you can be more active, lose weight and be healthier.
If you can, make a brisk walk part of your everyday routine. It’s good for you, it’s good for the environment and it can help to cut down the amount of traffic on the road. Walking can reduce your chances of getting some serious illnesses later in life, and can help to increase your bone density, flexibility, co-ordination and overall health and wellbeing. Getting some fresh air is a great way to de-stress and improve your mood.
And of course, walking is good for your wallet!
The lifestyles team at Livewire Warrington lead short walks in different areas of Warrington which can help you to get some fresh air and could be a first step into exercise.
We have some self-guided walking routes you can walk along which include the areas in and around Culcheth Linear Park, Moore Nature Reserve, Spud Wood and the Bridgewater Canal. There are other local websites with some great walking routes.
